Religious Research Data

Sometimes we're asked about the availability of other recent religious data. We highly recommend ARDA (The Association of Religion and Data Archives). ARDA is the most current source of religious data available, and is well known for providing reports on a broad array of variables at the county level. Click on this link to go to the ARDA page.

How To Use the MI System for Churches That Are Part of a Denominational Agency Agreement

Some churches are MI System Users as part of a regional or national denominational agency agreement. The process of registering and accessing the system is defined by that relationship. The following resources will assist you in getting started.

Don't know if you are part of an agency agreement? Click here to find out.

How To Register How to Register (The Local Church User Registration Guide)
This document will assist a local church that is part of a denominational agency register and begin using the MI System. It works well with the following tutorials.

Guides in the Use of Congregant Plot

You should first check with your regional body's MissionInsite contact person (the "Agency Administrator") to be certain that your church has been granted access rights to use congregant plot. You must also confirm that the "Agency Administrator" has designated a registered user from your church as your "Church Administrator". All registered users from your local church may plot and view your congregants on the map, but for reasons of confidentiality, only the "Church Administrator" may upload and retrieve congregant plot data (names, addresses, etc.) from your account.

For congregant data upload instructions and other options, please log in to "New System" and click the "Help" menu in the upper left hand corner of your map screen to view our training videos. The Essential Excel Congregant Data Template  is located on the "Tools" menu in the upper left hand corner of your map screen. Choose Congregants>Import Congregants.
