General Board of Discipleship and Path One of the United Methodist Church
The General Board of Discipleship of The United Methodist Church and MissionInsite, LLC have formed a Strategic Alliance designed to benefit Annual Conferences in the United States and their churches by providing community based church demographic information. Working together with Path One, this agreement has become a reality under the leadership of The Rev. Tom Butcher, Executive Officer, New Church development, GBOD and Path One.
Path One is the first of seven “paths” identified by United Methodist Bishops in 2005. The focus of Path One is new church development or church planting. The Bishops believe that establishing new churches should be a first priority. In formulating the national strategy, Path One will focus on three core strategies: 1) Investment in Leadership, 2) Multiplication of Healthy Congregations and 3) Networking. Under this third strategy is the commitment to provide good, up to date and easily obtainable community demographics. The partnership with MissionInsite is one piece in implementing this strategy.
MissionInsite is very excited about this new strategic partnership with Path One and the General Board of Discipleship. Web link to the General Board of Discipleship.GBOD.Web link to Path One Path One.
